I’m shooting my first wedding of the year soon, and thought I’d share a selection of photos from the very first wedding I ever took (I think it was 2011), and my very first wedding I attended as an adult.
Bear in mind this was my first ever attempt at photography for someone else so my efforts are, let’s be honest, amateur at best. But really that’s the only way to learn, isn’t it? Start off quite clueless but as sincere as possible and build from there.
These were the days where I shot with a second hand D60 in jpeg only with the warmth filter pumped right up until everyone looked as orange as Donald Trump, I’d crop pictures into odd proportions, and depended mostly on a huge zoom lens for my shots.
I know better now of course, my editing is getting better along with composition of shots. It’s still fun to look back, relive the day, and learn from the experience.
Ryan was an an acquaintance from my university days, and we have a heap of mutual friends. Since then he and his wife have had a little girl and he’s started his own tourism company. By all accounts it’s a roaring, if not pretty exhausting, trade.
