Winter is coming. Can you feel it coming in the air tonight?
Sorry, two badly strung together pop culture references. I’m a nerd, so sue me.
Anywhoo, this is a rather blurry picture of a projection in Franklin Square 5 years ago, as part of the Ten Days On The Island light instalment, Power Plant.
The projections weren’t static either – the faces (there were several in the square) flinched, twitched, grimaced. The effect was doubled as the trees the faces were projected on rustled and moved in the wind. There was even one image on the pedestal of the fountain that moved its head eerily. Gave me quite a turn at the time.
See, isn’t that the face of nightmares?
I really enjoyed this event. I love illumination in the dark, the shadows created, the glow. There’s that witching hour vibe where you feel that anything could happen.
