In my attempt to be a better local tourist, I wanted to spend a day somewhere stateside with the husband for Christmas. We ended up driving to Russell Falls for the day, walking the Russell Falls and Horseshoe Falls track, as well as the Lake Dobson circuit. I attempted to walk right to the top of the ski resort area but gave up after the first bend of the 4WD only road. We met an indifferent wallaby on the way up, and I made a friend in a frightfully large grasshopper on the way down.
Landscape photography has never been my forte. Whenever I take vista shots they look flat and lack depth. I blame it on my inability to compose at wide angles, but since my Christmas present to myself was a 24mm prime, I thought it time to have a half decent try (Matt Green of Viridian Photos is a great example of someone who takes scenery that just pops).
