Just a few unofficial photos from the first wedding of many in the coming months that I’ll be attending.
This was the wedding of a university friend of mine. One of those characters I wasn’t sure about when we first met because I thought he was all talk and lots of flash (don’t worry, that’s everyone’s opinion of him!) Early 20s me took a bit of time to warm up and realise that under all the bravado is a guy who is sincere, genuine, generous, and always full of laughs. You’re guaranteed to have a great time when you’re in his company.
In keeping with that, when he told me the wedding was going to be at MONA in under a year since proposal, I couldn’t do anything but marvel. Only he could pull something so epic off in such little time.
The whole event was a bit of a nostalgia trip for me on so many levels – university trip because of the groom and all the people we used to hang out with during those glorious uni days; college trip because I went to college with one of the guests and the main guitarist in the wedding band, and a high school trip because I went to high school with the bride, several of her bridesmaids, and the female lead singer in the wedding band.
But it was a great night, mostly because for a few hours it was a bunch of old friends just being together and feeling like we used to when we were students. I might have gotten a little teary at the end of the night. Might. Just a smidge. Whatevs. Shut up.

Fabulous cake. I might have hustled a piece back to home to enjoy the day after.
