Hello to day 3!
This is feeling a bit more up my alley.
Shirt + skirt + cardigan = my ultimate work formula.
Yes I realise that I’m dressed like a primary school teacher from St Mary’s Mead (and Miss Marple would be my next door neighbour), but I’ve found that when I dress for work, I’m not doing it to impress anyone. The key is comfort and looking the part.
Grana’s lovely gingham shirt adds enough interest and colour thanks to the geometric nature of the print, and any blousiness caused by the boyfriend cut of the shirt is hidden, tucked into the skirt, which helps me gain a little figure back.
I’m usually not a fan of oversized shirts specifically (jumpers are a different story) because I need the definition to avoid looking too stumpy. However, my shoulders appreciate the extra room to move in since poling for 5 years has left me with a lot of muscle mass up there. Normal slim cut shirts have me hulking out of the seams.
Long line cardigans are my preferred style as well. There’s something soft and elongating about them that I like over a cropped version, although that might again be down to my self consciousness of emphasising my gut.
All in all, this outfit is a definite winner for me.
